Why Choose North Shore Pediatric Therapy for Reading?

Our program is distinguished amoung tutoring "agencies" in that it utilizes evidence-based practice for the treatment of dyslexia provided by licensed speech and language pathologists or Masters Level Academic Specialists.  Specifically we are unique in that we staff Neuropsychologists who will provide:

  • Diagnostic evaluations with expertise in the assessment and treatment of learning disabilities.
  • Proper assessments to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
  • Advocacy in school IEP processes.

Few centers can provide this level of expertise in the assessment and treatment of children with learning disabilities.

All reading instruction is provided by our Speech-Language Pathologists or Masters Level Academic Specialists who use multi-sensory approaches to improve skills such as rate of reading, reading comprehension, letter/sound correspondence, and other literacy aspects.

The sessions are one-on-one, giving your child focused attention on their reading needs in a positive environment. Our program uses the Orton-Gillingham system, which is one of the oldest, most well-research programs for remediating reading disorders such as developmental dyslexia and has applications for children with a variety of reading problems of various etiologies.

Our reading program is beneficial to children with a wide range of reading difficulties, beginning readers, or even for children that are advanced and want to nurture their reading skills.
